This week some children have been to the allotment with Mrs Grant and Mrs Roden and tasted some of the produce that is growing there. They walked very sensibly and enjoyed chatting along the way, taking great care when crossing the roads. Mr Hunter came with us too, it was his first trip to the allotments.
Getting ready for our visit.
We walked very sensibly holding a partner’s hand.
Mr Chapman dug up some potatoes for us.
Looking for the potatoes in the soil
The peas tasted yummy.
So did the raspberries!
There were lots of other vegetables and fruit to look at.
Look out for next week’s Blog and what the rest of reception saw at their allotment visit.

We hope to be able to share some of the events above with you.
And Finally…..
This week’s Talking Tips
Be careful with questions.
Too many questions which have a right or wrong answer can stop the conversation. Ask questions which challenge your child to think.
For example
“What can you tell be about this shape?”
Is better than
“What shape is this?”
Rather than criticise, demonstrate the right way.
If your child makes a mistake, just say it the right way.
For example
Child “I goed to the park.”
Adult “Wow, so you went to the park.”
